Top 10 things that cause over-eating
Over-eating can be a big problem not only causing weight gain, but also fat gain, depression, low energy and put you at risk for a variety of health conditions. Women overeat for a number of reasons and you can find freedom from overeating by identifying the real reason and finding a new way to cope.
1. Body Hatred
Most women have some part of their body they hate and this can lead to severe behaviors like overeating and even eating disorders. Work with a dietician or therapist to find a way to release the hatred and find the things you love about your body instead. Dig for your own personal value, not a reflection of society or those around you.
2. Lack of Willpower
Lack of willpower doesn't mean you're weak. Everyone has a tough time when things are tough. It's easy to be focused and on point with food when life is going great, but difficult when things are going a little rough. Work on strengthening your willpower by adding self-discipline into your life in different ways. Lift weights and exercise and work to stay on a routine.
3. Deprivation
If you're feeling deprived in your diet or anywhere else in your life you may find yourself trying to fill that void with food. Even small amounts of your favorite foods can satisfy you and keep your from overeating. If you love chocolate eat one ounce of the darkest chocolate you can handle. You'll feel satisfied without overdoing it.
4. Boredom
Bored eating is really common and is generally seen as snacking in front of the TV or even while working at home. If you need to snack, grab something healthy like veggies or fruit.
5. Glucose Intolerance
This is a body condition that causes carb cravings and can cause you to pack on the calories. Take the time to check with your doctor to find out if there is a glucose problem you need to be concerned about.
6. Habits
Our eating habits start when we're infants and are learned mostly through our childhood environment, though habits can be created along the way. If your habits include unhealthy eating, eating too much or mindless eating you need to break the habit. You can help do this by eating smaller meals throughout the day so you don't feel like you're giving a lot up. Even one small change in diet (drop fast food) and you'll see and feel a huge difference.
7. Need for Love & Affection
Whether it's a break up or work pressure when we feel a need for love and affection it can be easy to turn to food. But, food doesn't love you back, in fact it's out to get you. Instead call a fried to see a movie or take part in a hobby you love.
8. Fatigue
When you're constantly tired you look for energy sources to keep you going. This can cause you to binge on sugar and carbs which are your body's natural source of energy. Make sure you get enough rest and if you can't use protein and fiber as energy sources instead.
9. Overwhelmed
